Linear functions

A single SAT question can hide a linear function inside a seemingly complicated scenario, but it always boils down to y = mx + b. You'll interpret slope as rate (cost per item, speed, growth per year) and the y-intercept as the starting value.

Common traps include misreading units, confusing positive/negative slopes, or picking answers that only match one feature of the function. Stay sharp on translating words to equations, and these problems become quick wins.
