Equivalent Expressions

Two expressions can look completely different and still be equal. That's the whole game here. The SAT gives you an expression and asks you to identify or produce an equivalent version, testing your fluency with factoring, distribution, and algebraic manipulation.

A common mistake is rushing through arithmetic when rearranging terms. One dropped negative sign and the whole answer falls apart. If time allows, plug in a simple number (like x = 2) to verify your answer matches the original. It's a quick safety net that catches careless errors.
