Two closing phrases are worth learning as blocks. Quanto Le devo? literally asks how much you owe, and Italians use it where an English speaker might ask for the total. Il resto è per Lei hands over the change as a tip, which is the normal way of rounding up without announcing a figure. Small talk about where someone was born, weeks and holidays, and settling a payment face to face all show up far beyond a taxi.
