Past Participle Forms

Irregular verbs do not follow the usual rules, and this 15-question quiz drills their past participle forms.

You are given the base verb and write the participle, working through tricky ones like begin, ride, and tear.

A pattern that catches people out is that some verbs barely change at all. A word like hurt keeps the same spelling in its base, past, and participle forms, while others, like awake turning into awoken, shift completely.

Recommended level: intermediate.
